You Are His Masterpiece

Ephesians 2:10 says: For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

I love this verse right from the beginning.
Garden in Giverny
When I was in college, I began to love Claude Monet paintings. I had them on my walls and would frame things that he had painted. I even had a pop-up book with his gardens and paintings in them because I love the beauty of them.
I loved the serenity and relaxing themes he painted. The colors he used in the paintings gave me a sense of calmness when I looked at them. The pictures drew me in to the scene and I wanted to be in that spot.
This is a picture of his garden in Giverny that inspired some his paintings and some of my favorites. He created masterpieces that have been admired for generations.

Ephesians 2:10 says that we are God’s masterpiece. When I think of those breathtaking paintings, it helps me appreciate all that God put into our creation.

Who Is Jesus?

 Who is Jesus?
Story from Special Guest Blogger- Kale, Age 8

If you met a new friend today and they asked you, “Who is Jesus?” What would you say?

These verses are three of my favorite verses I learned in AWANAs.  I think that a friend would understand who Jesus is from these verses.

I would say these verses to them. John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

Jesus is called the Word. This verse is telling us Jesus was with God in the beginning before the world was made. It is also telling us that Jesus is God. Through Jesus all things were made and without Him nothing would have been made. So if He were not real then nothing would be made that has been made.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

Are You Willing to Forgive?

My son made his, I don’t know, 5th appearance on the step the other day. No, this is not a new television show. It is where my kids go when they misbehave. As always, I want my kids to learn from there mishaps so when they get up I have them apologize to whomever they’ve wronged. They start with, “I am sorry for…, will you forgive me followed by a hug.”

My son is at the age where I really want him to think about his consequence so he can turn his behavior around. As he is on the step he asks if it is time to get up. So he says, “Mom can you forgive me.” My reply was, not to be unforgiving but so he would think a little deeper about his apology, “How many times do I have to forgive you for the same thing?” His reply, “Well, God said 70 times.”

Forgiveness can be a complex topic. There is also something very uncomplicated about it.

One reason I have my children apologize, even if sometimes it is out of habit, is someday they are going to have to repent to their Heavenly Father.

Having a faith in Christ and a relationship with Christ, begins with repentance. Recognizing that you are a sinner and without Him you are a dying soul and you are coming to Him because He alone can save you.

Heart for Worship

Recently, I was listening to a talk show on the radio and they were talking about the persecution that Christians are facing all over the world. My heart was breaking for these people as I heard stories of imprisonment and death. As I was listening to them talk about countries where people get arrested for simply carrying a Bible, I began praising God for my freedom to worship Him.

I realize that this is not new news. I realize people have been facing persecution since Bible times. Jesus himself faced ridicule and persecution among His own people.
2 Timothy 3:12 tells us Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

During several conversations about the church, and I don’t mean a particular church but the Church in general, I see such lack of love for one another. Persecution among fellow believers. These are just my observations and well, you can decide for yourself if you see them to be true. These are general statements and obviously there are many amazing believers out there that are men and women after God's own heart. Many blessings they will receive.

Seek Him First! Today's Bible Reading

James 1:17
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of Lights with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

It is of utmost importance that you know that Christ died for you. He died for all sinners so that our relationship with Him could be restored.

Because of His sacrifice on the cross we can have peace. Are you seeking more peace today? Peace of the soul can only be given through the redemptive power of Jesus Christ.

I hope that you, too, know the saving grace of an amazing God.
